Japanese Courses
Wenatchee Valley College offers credit courses in Japanese as options for fulfilling the humanities requirement (15 credits) for the associate of arts and sciences degree. JAPN 101 5 credits Japanese I Beginning Japanese. The primary objective is to develop students' communicative skills in everyday situations in Japanese. Students also will learn reading and writing skills at the elementary level.
JAPN 102 5 credits Japanese II Continuation of Japanese I. The primary objective is to develop students' communicative skills in everyday situations in Japanese. Studentsalso will learn reading and writing skills at the elementary level. Prerequisite: JAPN 101. JAPN 103 5 credits Japanese III Continuation of Japanese II. This course deals with more grammatical aspects of Japanese language than Japanese II. However, the primary objective is still to develop students' communicative skills in everydaysituations in Japanese. Students also will learn reading and writing skills at the elementary level. Prerequisite: JAPN 102 or equivalent. JAPN 204 5 credits Japanese IV Continuation of JAPN 103, Japanese III. The primary objective is to enhance students' communicative skills in a variety of everyday situations in Japanese. Students will learn reading and writing skills at theintermediate level. Prerequisite: JAPN 103 or instructor's signature. JAPN 205 5 credits Japanese V Continuation of JAPN 103, Japanese IV. The primary objective is to enhance students' communicative skills in a variety of everyday situations in Japanese. Students will learn reading and writing skills at the intermediate level.
