About the Coach: Coby lettered in football and basketball in high school. After high school he attended Eastern Washington University and was on the football team as a receiver. Coby then transferred to Columbia Basin College and played basketball for one year. He finally finished his college career at Northwest Nazarene University playing basketball.
Off the court: Coby earned his BA in kinesiology education and became an elementary P.E. teacher/varsity football coach/varsity basketball coach out of college. Four years later he moved from Boise, ID, to East Wenatchee, where he currently resides. Coby is currently the residence life coordinator at Wenatchee Valley College.
Season Preview: The Knights have implemented a new offense to complement their speed and experience at the guard position. They have also adopted the defense Coach McGinnis has used in creating his success and defensive specialist reputation. With four strong sophomores and 11 incoming freshmen, the Knights promise to be an exciting team to watch this year.
Assistant Coach, Men's Basketball
Brett McGinnis coached basketball previously at Wenatchee High School from 2004-2010. He was named Big 9 Coach of the Year (2009) and helped guide his teams to two league titles in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 seasons. In three consecutive seasons, one of Coach McGinnis's players was named Big 9 Defensive Player of the Year 2008, 2009 and 2010. Brett has also coached high school football and track as well as local select AAU basketball teams.
Off the court: Brett works in marketing and video production. He is married to Cheryl (Sparks) McGinnis and they have four kids: Killion, Ashlynn, Conley and Tenley.
