Allied Health Noncredit Programs

WVC Continuing Education has partnered with WVC Allied Health to offer noncredit healthcare
training options.

 

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Fast-Track Course
The CNA Fast-Track course provides the basics in care-giving skills for entry-level employment in healthcare. It includes instruction of personal care skills, roles and responsibilities of nursing assistants, communication skills, and safe and emergency procedures. CPR training for healthcare providers and seven hours of HIV/AIDS training required by Washington State are included. Upon successful completion and evaluation by nursing faculty, students are eligible to take the certification examination for nursing assistants. This course, or its equivalent, is a prerequisite for the nursing program.

Training consists of classroom/lab time as well as clinical experience at a local long-term care facility.

Course entry process
 
1.  Review CNA requirements and application.If you can fulfill all requirements, continue to registration.

2.  You can register at anytime. You do not need to complete the application before registering. Please see application due dates below.

3.  Entry requirements and application MUST BE completed by due dates below. Submit your completed paperwork to:

M.A. to CNA Bridge Course
This noncredit "bridge" course provides training for medical assistants to transition to CNA. Upon successful completion of the course, this 24-hour training (4 8-hour days) will allow the medical assistant to become eligible to take the Nursing Assistant Certified exam. The course consists of classroom/lab time as well as clinical experience at a local long-term care facility.
*This program is available to medical assistants who have graduated from an accredited medical assistant program. Proof of graduation from an accredited program is required.*

Course entry process

1.  Review MA-CNA requirements and application

2.  If you can fulfill all requirements, continue to registration

3.  Entry requirements and application MUST BE completed prior to the first day of class. Submit your completed paperwork to:

CPR for the Healthcare Provider Recertification
Continuing Education offers CPR for Healthcare Provider Recertification classes once every quarter. The class is two hours and meets for one evening. To register for the class, your CPR card cannot be expired for more than three months.
