Ordering Books

Where you get your books depends on the type of Distance Learning class you are enrolled in. If you aren’t sure, check the “Course Type” for your class on the Distance Learning Schedule.

Books for Washington Online Classes (section code WO)

Books for Washington Online classes are available online through the WashingtonOnline website called Bookstore Information.

Once at the WAOL Bookstore page, you will find directions for ordering your book from the eCampus Bookstore.

NOTE! When you go to order from eCampus, you will need the WAOL ID# for your class. This is not the same as the WVC item number for your class. Refer to the Distance Learning schedule to find the WAOL ID# for your particular class.

When you buy a book through the WashingtonOnline bookstore, you may find that the course name and number are different from the WVC course for which you registered.  Before offering a WAOL course, WVC staff review the content and assign to the course a name and number that corresponds to a WVC course. For example, the WAOL course called 3000 Western Civilization I corresponds to the WVC course HIST 101 Ancient History.

Do not wait until the last minute to order books for your WAOL classes.

Demand for textbooks will be quite high just before the quarter begins and it could take seven to nine days for your books to arrive. If you don’t receive your books by the time class begins, log into your classroom and keep your instructor informed of your situation.

Using the WVC bookstore for Washington Online course books.

  1. Go to the WAOL bookstore and get the author, title and ISBN of the books you need (you can print the info from the WAOL site).
  2. Call or go to the WVC bookstore with the author, title and ISBN of the books you need and they'll order the book for you. NOTE: the WVC bookstore requires a $10.00 deposit on each title they order for you.
