Pam Wilson-McNamara, BS, Assistant Professor
Pamela Wilson-McNamara is a native Texan, who graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA degree in Microbiology. She then completed a year-long internship in Medical Technology at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, after which she became a board certified Medical Technologist by the American College of Clinical Pathology.
Her clinical experience includes serving as the Blood Bank Supervisor at US Army Hospital in Wurzburg, Germany. After relocation to Wenatchee, she worked as a Microbiologist at Central Washington Hospital. She was also involved in monitoring Quality Assurance, compiling epidemiology studies for infectious control, developing policies and procedures, and editing the Safety Manual. Pam has also served as a laboratory inspector for the College of American Pathologists.
In 1984, she began teaching at WVC in the MLT program where she first developed a summer blood banking course, and helped to develop the regional MLT program. She continued as an Adjunct Professor at WVC until 2000. At that time, she moved to Seattle, where she served as a house mother to a sorority of 100 students at the University of Washington. She also taught microbiology at North Seattle Community College. In 2007, Pam returned to WVC and the MLT program.
