Tech Prep

High schools within the Wenatchee Valley College district have articulated course competencies and determined that certain high school classes meet the requirements of comparable college courses. This means that students could receive both high school credit and transferable Wenatchee Valley College credit at the same time.

Tech Prep has many advantages for students:

  • College credit at a minimal cost. Average savings are $300.00 per class.
  • Earn credits for high school and college at the same time.
  • Remain in high school. No need to attend the college to receive these credits.
  • Advance placement in college professional/technical programs.
  • Develop marketable skills. Prepare for a career.

Just follow these simple steps and you are on your way to Tech Prep credit.

  1. Enroll in college Tech Prep classes offered at your high school or skills center and earn a grade of “B” or better.
  2. Register for your Tech Prep credits through the online registration system at www.techprepwa.org/wa/ncwc the same school year in which you take the class.
  3. Return the resulting registration form with a one-time non-refundable $15.00 fee to the Tech Prep office listed below.
  4. Receive Wenatchee Valley College credits.

Click on the Articulation Pathways link to learn how your Tech Prep credits will apply to a degree or certificate program at WVC.

Note: Tech Prep credits are intended for college vocational programs and may not transfer to a four-year school outside of Washington's community and technical college system. It is the student's responsibility to consult with those institutions concerning specific credit transfer and admission requirements.
