
Faculty (librarian) Supplemental Application

4. Your answers will be evaluated for ability in written communication as well as for content.
Questions:
1. Give an example of experience you have had designing or initiating new processes, programs or ideas. Describe the experience, explaining what needs you were trying to meet. What were the reactions from supervisors, co-workers, community members, etc., and how did you respond?
2. Describe library assessment activities you have participated in or lead. What methodologies did you use and what process was followed to loop back and apply the results of assessment to adjust the library program both in content and in delivery?
3. Describe your experience working effectively with groups of people who have diverse cultural, ethnic, educational and/or economic backgrounds, as well as varied interests, abilities and age levels.
4. Tell us what you know about the missions of comprehensive community colleges. What, in your estimation, is the most important role community colleges play in post-secondary education or in the community?
5. Have you had experience as a teacher or student with e-learning through technology-enhanced methods such as interactive television, multi-media presentation, Internet, telecourses or correspondence courses? If yes, describe your experiences. As a librarian, how have you supported distance and/or technology-enhanced learning?
6. We are looking for faculty members who have the flexibility to anticipate and adapt to the dynamically changing arena of American post-secondary education. How can you demonstrate this flexibility? Please share examples from past or current experiences.
7. What skills are essential to be an effective librarian? How have you acquired these skills and placed them into practice?
