Worker Retraining
You may be eligible for grant money to attend school.

Worker Retraining is a partnership between community and technical colleges and the Washington State Employment Security Department.

The Worker Retraining Program provides educational and career planning to help dislocated and unemployed workers retrain in a vocational field and return to work. Students may qualify for assistance with tuition, fees and books, and continue to receive unemployment benefits while attending one of WVC's many occupational programs.

  • Are you currently receiving Washington state unemployment benefits?
  • Have you recently (within 24 months) exhausted your unemployment benefits?
  • Are you a U.S. veteran, separated from the U.S. armed services in the last 24 months, and can present your DD214 honorable discharge?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions you may be eligible for WRT grant funding to enroll in a WVC professional and technical program.
