Enrollment : How to Enroll

Advising and Counseling
You will not need a special adviser in order to enroll in distance learning courses. Work with your adviser as usual to formulate your educational plan. If you have not been assigned an adviser, contact Sorena Southerland in the counseling office.

Financial Aid
All distance learning credit courses are covered by financial aid.

Important note about financial aid for students enrolled only in WAOL classes.

You are responsible for purchasing your own books and supplies until grant checks are available. Checks for financial aid grants are disbursed at the beginning of each quarter, usually within the first week of classes. Although WAOL courses follow a calendar schedule that is independent of WVC on-campus courses, financial aid checks will not be released prior to the start of on-campus courses.WVC staff are aware that WAOL books must be ordered through the online bookstore and that it takes 7-10 days to receive the books. It is obviously very important for you to have these books in order to succeed in your course work. If waiting for your financial aid check will cause you a hardship, please contact the financial aid office at least two weeks prior to the start of your WAOL course in order to discuss other options.

Registration
Follow normal registration procedures for distance learning courses, with the following exceptions:

Telecourses - If you register for a telecourse after the first class has met, you will need to obtain the instructor's permission and signature on your registration form.

WashingtonOnline (WAOL) courses - You must have an e-mail address before registering so that WAOL staff may contact you. For complete advising, counseling, registration, and financial aid information, see the Admissions department on the WVC Home Page.
