How Telecourses Work
A week-by-week syllabus outlines your course of study that includes readings, written assignments, exams and videotape presentations.
Students communicate with their instructor and other students in the class via e-mail (optional).
Most classes include four to five evening meetings during the quarter for supplementary lectures, labs, discussion and exams. (Refer to individual telecourse descriptions for meeting dates and times.)

Getting Started

Registration — Follow normal registration procedures (via the Web, by mail or in person). To register for a telecourse after the first class has met, obtain the instructor's permission and signature on your registration form.

Books — Textbooks and other required materials are available in person or by mail from the Wenatchee Valley College Bookstore.

Videotapes — Your tuition payment includes a nonrefundable videotape license and rental fee. Once you have paid your tuition, you may rent (check out) a set of tapes from the library during normal library hours, or, if you are purchasing textbooks by mail, you may request to have a set of tapes shipped with your book order. (Tapes may also be available at the Lake Chelan Center and the North Campus library.)

  • You must obtain a library card in order to check out a set tapes.
  • Videotape sets are due back at the library at the end of the quarter.
