WVC art faculty members receive recognition for work

WVC Art Department faculty members Scott Bailey and Vicki DeRooy continue to gain recognition for their work.

Scott will present an interactive installation and public lecture of his virtual landscape artwork at Western Washington University on Monday, May 9. Here’s a link about the event: http://onlinefast.org/wwutoday/news/artist-scott-bailey-present-lecture-wwu-may-9

From May 5 to June 10, paintings by Vicki will be on display at the Allied Arts of Yakima Valley. She is sharing the exhibit with Yakima painter Brian Holtzinger. The show runs in conjunction with a play by local Yakima playwright Kurt Labberton and runs April 29-30, May 5-7 and 12-14 at the Warehouse Theater Company in Yakima. The one-act play features Vicki’s paintings as a backdrop/scrim projected behind the players as they perform.
