WVC Phi Theta Kappa and Icicle Arts seek design proposals for outdoor mural project
Icicle Arts, in partnership with Phi Theta Kappa’s Eta Rho Chapter at Wenatchee Valley College, invites artists who are students, alumni, faculty and staff of WVC to submit a design proposal for an outdoor mural on Batjer Hall, located on the WVC Wenatchee campus. Proposals are due by May 15, 2011.
The area to be painted on Batjer Hall is a south-facing textured stucco wall 15 feet high by 39 feet long.
Icicle Arts and the PTK Eta Rho Chapter seek a design that celebrates the pursuit of academic scholarship, the natural surroundings of the Wenatchee Valley and cultural diversity. A jury of artists and WVC staff/faculty will select one design. The submitting artist will receive an honorarium of at least $100. The selected artwork will be painted with materials provided by volunteers from the Icicle Arts and the PTK Eta Rho Chapter.
Applications will be accepted until May 15, 2011, and can be submitted digitally to wvcphithetakappa@gmail.com or by mail to PO Box 775, Leavenworth, WA, 98826. Applications and submission requirements are available here.
The selected artist will be notified by e-mail no later than May 20.
