The Wenatchee Valley College at Omak Foundation was formed by a group of citizens in 2000  to encourage and support educational programs offered at Wenatchee Valley College at Omak. The foundation provides scholarships to students and is committed to increasing higher education access for the citizens in the northern half of Community College District 15.

The WVCO Foundation is a nonprofit corporation established under Washington law and is fiscally and structurally independent of District 15. Guided by a 15-member governing board of community members, the WVCO Foundation is ideally suited to accept gifts of cash, real property, endowments, annuities and gift trusts from donors supportive of WVC at Omak.

The foundation established its first endowed scholarship, the Stan Berg Memorial Scholarship Fund, in 2003. This fund yields scholarships given each year in honor of the late Stan Berg, who was an Okanogan rancher, a devoted leader of statewide and national FFA programs and the benefactor to several postsecondary educational institutions. Wenatchee Valley College at Omak and the WVCO Foundation were honored to receive such generous private support.

The WVCO Foundation also raises funds for, and awards, special purpose scholarships such as Nurses for Tomorrow Scholarships and the North Valley Hospital Employees Scholarship. It also raises funds to purchase educational equipment such as portable EKG and IV pump machines used to train nurses and welding equipment used by both college and high school students. Additionally, the WVC Foundation has funded numerous general scholarships awarded to meritorious students chosen by a panel of college, foundation, student and community representatives.

The WVCO Foundation currently has four memorial funds:

  • The Stan Berg Memorial Fund
  • The Frank Allen Memorial Fund
  • The Reese Mansfield Memorial Fund
  • The Janice Wells Memorial Fund
