WVC at Omak Associated Student Body Sponsors Fifth Annual Jammin’ Against Hunger

The Associated Students of Wenatchee Valley College at Omak are sponsoring the fifth annual community benefit show Jammin’ Against Hunger 2010 Friday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. in the Courtyard in downtown Omak.  Featured entertainers include Cody Beebe and the Crooks, Brock Hires, Lota Duarte, Denny Richardson and Livia Millard.

WVC at Omak student Brock Hires will serve as master of ceremonies. The main headliner Cody Beebe and the Crooks are an emerging progressive folk rock band from Seattle. Built on Beebe’s strong song writing abilities and previous solo music career, the band has played premier venues around the Northwest. They have opened for a number of artists from various genres including Josh Turner and Afroman. The other featured artists are local musicians from the Okanogan County area.

Admission is two or three items of nonperishable food. Food banks are requesting donations of canned fruits and proteins such as peanut butter and meat products. All donations will be distributed in the Okanogan County area. T-shirts will be sold and proceeds will benefit the local food banks.

Other activities in the Courtyard that day include a rummage sale hosted by Phi Theta Kappa from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
