The community is invited to a community education forum regarding immigration reform presented by the North Central Washington Immigration Reform Roundtable (NCWIRR) on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the campus theater at Wenatchee Valley College.

"This issue is of vital importance to all residents of Washington state because it affects us all," said Jon Wyss, president of the Okanogan Valley Farm Bureau, who will be the keynote speaker. "Jobs, agriculture, business, individuals and families, border security – there is much to understand."

Wenatchee attorney Dale Foreman will be a panelist speaking in favor of comprehensive immigration reform. Seattle marketing consultant Steve Beren will be a panelist advocating border security as a national defense issue and speaking against amnesty for people living in the U.S. without legal permission. Former Wenatchee World editor and Chelan PUD communications director Steve Lachowicz will serve as moderator. Answers to audience questions will conclude the program.

NCWIRR is a diverse group of individuals representing bipartisan and nonprofit organizations, faith-based communities, businesses and families. For more information, contact Alma Chacon at 509.630.3315 or Karen Keleman at 509.630.3055.
