Wenatchee Valley College will celebrate the release of the college's first CD, "The Juse Music Project," on Thursday, June 11, at 7 p.m. in The Grove Recital Hall, Music and Art Center, on the Wenatchee campus.

The event will include performances of the songs on the CD by WVC students and friends. Autographed copies of the CD will be available for purchase. CDs are regularly $15; for the concert, they will be sale priced at $10.

Seating is limited and reservations are required. Visit www.wvc.edu/75 and select The Juse Music Project CD Release to make reservations. Tickets are $10 for general audience members and $5 for students.

"The Juse Music Project" features eight songs by WVC students Sophia Turnbull, Mike Roach, Robert Brown, Keturah Thoroughman, Justin Weeks, Ryan Goembel, and Teigen Iwaasa, and by WVC Music Director Juel Iwaasa.

Iwaasa tasked the 2014-15 sophomore class of music majors to write, arrange and record songs with the intent of making WVC's first music CD. The music students also had to incorporate certain aspects of chromatic harmony into their songs. The process encompassed the entire academic year, with song composition in the fall, arrangement and recording in the winter, and final recording and mixing in the spring. All recording and mixing/mastering was completed in the WVC Music and Art Center recording studio.

WVC Graphic Design students, led by instructor David Hampton, also contributed to the project by designing and producing the CD cover.
