In celebration of Abraham Lincoln's 205th birthday and WVC's 75th anniversary, Leon McKinney will bring Abraham Lincoln to life at Lincoln Day, a scholarship benefit, on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. in The Grove Recital Hall, Music and Art Center, at the Wenatchee Valley College Wenatchee campus.

Admission is $5 for students and $10 for adults. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Visit www.wvc.edu/75 to register and purchase tickets. For more information, call 509.682.6907.

McKinney is a teacher, author and community advocate for children. His well-researched and inspirational portrayal of Lincoln captivates audiences. He is joined by Mary Ellen Kerby as Mary Todd, Ainsley Shearer as Grace Bedell, Noah Monson as Tad Lincoln, Freddy Robinson as Frederick Douglass and Dr. Terry Sorom as narrator.

The evening will begin with the original overture of Civil War music written by Gordon Schuster. The Apollo Club will conclude the evening with the renowned Peter Wilhousky arrangement of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."

All proceeds from the event will benefit WVC students through the HOPE and WVC Foundation scholarship funds.

The Lincoln Day Scholarship Benefit is sponsored by Town Auto Group with support from Global Car Care, Frank Kuntz, Larry and Sherry Schreck, and Biosports.
