Nelson Scholarship

WVC at Omak accounting scholarship deadline Feb. 25

Through a generous donation of the Nelson family, $5,000 in scholarships for tuition will be awarded to students enrolled in, or planning to enroll in the Wenatchee Valley College (WVC) at Omak accounting program.

Former graduates of Omak High School, Richard “Dick” Nelson, class of 1942 and Susan Featherstone Nelson, class of 1946, now of Bellevue, Wash., want to share this gift with deserving students. Susan is a former certified public accountant and certified financial planner and Dick is an investment adviser. They recently retired from Nelson Financial Services, Inc. To quote the Nelsons: “Accounting is a rewarding field and an excellent course of study for many jobs. We want to help students develop the skills that will enable them to find employment in the local community.”

Students may apply by completing the Nelson accounting scholarship application available at the WVC at Omak financial aid office. Complete applications must be received by Feb. 25. For more information call (509) 422-7808.
