Congressman Dave Reichert will speak about his experiences in law enforcement and investigations into King County’s Green River Serial Killings on Monday, April 4, at 2 p.m. in The Grove Recital Hall, Music and Art Center. This event is free and open to the public.

Reichert served for 32 years in the King County Sheriff’s Office starting in 1972. He was lead detective of the Green River Task Force, formed to track down the most prolific serial killer in U.S. history. In 2001, DNA evidence identified Gary Leon Ridgway as the Green River Killer.

Reichert published a book about the investigations, Chasing the Devil: My Twenty-Year Quest to Capture the Green River Killer, in 2006.

In 1997, Reichert became the first elected sheriff in 30 years in King County, and he is now serving his sixth term representing Washington’s 8th Congressional District.

This event is sponsored by the WVC Criminal Justice Program and The Knights of Justice Club.
