Wenatchee Valley College students, staff, alumni and supporters of the WVC Foundation are invited to show their love for WVC at the second-annual Knight at the Wild on Friday, Feb. 14, at the Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee. Doors open at 6:05 p.m.; the puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

The event includes a Wenatchee Wild vs. Soo Eagles game; interactive activities, demonstrations, and information from WVC clubs, departments and programs; a WVC Sweetheart Contest and a frozen t-shirt contest. The winner of the frozen t-shirt contest will receive a $2,000 scholarship to WVC for the 2014-15 academic year.

WVC alumni who post their photo and a story about meeting their spouses at WVC to the WVC Alumni Association Facebook page will automatically be entered into the WVC Sweetheart contest to win a romantic package. The winner will be announced at the Wild game.

Tickets are $2 with the donation of two non-perishable food items and $5 without donations. WVC students, faculty and staff may purchase tickets daily at the student programs office in Van Tassell Center; WVC alumni and Foundation donors may purchase tickets from the alumni association office, third floor, Wenatchi Hall. In addition, the WVC Alumni Association and student senate will have Wild Wednesdays every Wednesday until the game, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Van Tassell Center. Students and staff who purchase tickets during Wild Wednesday will have the opportunity to win prizes and enter into a drawing for an autographed Wild jersey.

KW3 103.9 radio will be in Van Tassell Center on Tuesday, Feb. 4 and 11 with live remotes to promote Knight at the Wild. Staff and students who have purchased their tickets can stop by the booth and receive free t-shirts with the new Knight at the Wild logo during the live remotes. WVC student Carolyn Christensen designed the 2014 Knight at the Wild logo.

Stacey Lockhart, WVC Foundation executive director, said that she is excited to once again bring WVC into the community and share much of what the college has to offer.

Last year, the WVC Foundation and student senate sold over 1,200 tickets, and the college set an attendance record for a group night at the Town Toyota Center, and they hope to meet or exceed last year's record.
