Nursing Assistant Certificate of Completion
Practical Nursing (LPN) Certificate of Completion
Completion of the first year (four quarters) of the associate degree program entitles the student to take the licensure examination for practical nursing.
Associate Degree Nursing (RN)associate of technical sciences degree
Completion of the two-year (seven-quarter) program entitles the student to take the licensure examination for registered nursing.
Nursing is a continually evolving health profession practiced in a changing society. The nurse of the 21st century will provide care for a culturally diverse population within a community-based health care delivery system. Professional nurses must keep abreast of technological advances while demonstrating the value of human caring. Nurses also have an important role in encouraging and instructing individuals to choose behaviors that promote health. The registered nurse is a vital leader on the health care delivery team.
The nursing program has a limited enrollment on the Wenatchee and Omak campuses and is subject to special admission requirements and procedures for both the first and second year, in addition to the prerequisites. Since the nursing program requires intensive study, students should complete the required general education courses before entering the program. Students should expect to carry a heavy class schedule unless they have previously completed some of the required general education courses.
Hands-on clinical work in a variety of health care settings in the community provides invaluable experience, offering opportunities for critical thinking and effective decision-making by the student nurse. Clinical students will be assigned day and evening shifts, and may have out-of-town travel. Second-year students may have to work some evening shifts or Saturdays. All students when given out-of-town assignments (for short periods of time) are responsible for their own living expenses.

A negative drug test is required for the nursing program. Students that fail the drug test will not be eligible to attend clinicals and therefore will be unable to complete the nursing program.
Nursing The Associate Degree Nursing program prepares students who are highly educated, technically advanced, competent and caring individuals to practice professional nursing in a variety of settings. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the examination for licensure as a registered nurse (NCLEX-RN).
