The college is committed to uphold the intent of the Drug-Free Workplace Acts of 1988 and 1989.  Implicit in these requirements is that the college prohibits the unlawful possession, use or distribution of alcohol or controlled substances as defined in RCW 69.50.101 as now law or hereafter amended by students and employees on its property or as part of any of its activities (except when use or possession is specifically prescribed by an appropriately licensed health care provider); that the college will communicate applicable legal sanctions for the unlawful possession or distribution of controlled substances and alcohol; that the college will provide a description of the health risks associated with the use of controlled substances and alcohol; that the college will furnish information on any controlled substances or alcohol counseling treatment re-entry programs available to students and employees; and that the college will issue statements that it will impose disciplinary sanctions on students and employees for violations of these standards of conduct (consistent with the Student Code of Conduct or applicable labor agreements and the Washington Personnel Resources Board rules/procedures.)
