Placement Testing (Compass)
The placement test is a series of short tests in math, reading and writing. The scores are used to determine placement in math and English courses. All degree-seeking students who have not taken college math or English classes need to take the placement test before registering for classes at WVC. Click here for information about signing up or to request a copy of your scores.
GED
If you did not finish high school you can take the GED test to demonstrate you have the knowledge and skill level comparable to those who did. There are five tests in the GED: Writing, Social Studies, Science, Reading and Math. Click here for information about signing up.
CASAS
CASAS testing is available for students wanting to sign up for Adult Basic Education classes and English as a Second Language classes. The CASAS is free. Call 682-6790 for testing dates.
SAT/ACT
To sign up for an SAT or ACT test, contact your local high school counselor or visit www.collegeboard.com or www.act.org. Wenatchee Valley College does not accept scores from either test for placement in WVC courses. For students who plan on attending other institutions that do require SAT/ACT scores, those tests are administered on the Wenatchee Valley College campus in Eller-Fox Science Building east of the Smith Gymnasium parking lot.
TEAS Testing
A passing score on the TEAS test is one of the prerequisites for students wishing to enter the Nursing program. Click here for information about signing up.
Proctored Tests for Other Schools
Because of limited space, the Testing Center can not proctor tests for students from other schools. Contact the WVC Library to arrange this type of testing (509.682.6710)
