About Ty Jones

Ty JonesTy currently serves as the Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness & Planning at Wenatchee Valley College. He came to WVC in 2016.

Originally from southeastern Idaho, he graduated from Brigham Young University in 1992 with a double major in Political Science and Statistics and minors in Math and German. Towards the end of attending BYU and after graduation, he worked 11 years in market research in Utah. After moving to the Tri-Cities in Washington in 1999, he began working in institutional research at Columbia Basin College (CBC). While working at CBC, he obtained a Master of Science degree in Higher Education – Administration from Walden University in 2015.

Ty has served in a variety of roles and offices in state and national professional and work-related organizations. He currently serves as the parliamentarian for the Washington Research & Planning Commission. He has published two scholarly articles on the effect of first-year introduction programs on student success and the impact of first-term math on student retention and completion.

Ty is a husband, father, son, brother, dog-lover, former baseball player and soccer referee. He is an avid reader, camper and a computer geek.
