Bio

Ervin became interim head coach of the Knights baseball program in 2026 after serving for five years as an assistant coach.

A Washington state native, Ervin started at Omak High School before continuing his playing career at Spokane Falls Community College. During his two seasons with the Sasquatch, he earned All-NWAC honors as a catcher before transferring to Emporia State University, where he was recognized as an All-MIAA catcher. Following his collegiate career, Ervin signed professionally with the San Diego Padres organization. 

Ervin began his coaching career at Wenatchee High School, serving as both an assistant coach and head coach from 2017 through 2023. In 2020, he joined the WVC coaching staff, where he has overseen the development of Knights hitters and catchers. 

Under Ervin's guidance, a Knights catcher has earned All-NWAC First Team honors every season. He has played an integral role in the continued success of the baseball program, helping lead the Knights to consistent postseason appearances and establishing WVC as a perennial contender in the NWAC East Region. In 2026, the Knights finished second in the East Region and advanced to the NWAC Championships, continuing the program's upward trajectory.
