Become an Online Student

Who Must Apply?

  • New students: Students who have never attended WVC.
  • Returning students: Students who are returning to WVC after an absence of a quarter or more (excluding summer).
  • Transfer students: Students who are transferring to WVC from another college or university.

New and former students must secure admission before they can register for classes.

How Do I Apply?

Visit the WVC Apply for Admission page to learn how to complete the application process. After applying, view the Student Checklist for additional considerations.

Once your application is processed, watch your email for an acceptance letter with your ctcLink ID number and next steps.

Note:  US Citizens and Permanent Residents should apply for Financial Aid as soon as they decide to apply for admission.

Who Doesn’t Apply?

  • Current students: You are currently enrolled in WVC classes or you are not classified as a former or new student (see above)
  • Taking 6 credits or fewer: Students taking 6 or fewer credits at WVC are not required to apply for admission; however, in-person registration is required in this case.

Online Advising and Registration

The public Online Advising & Registration (O.A.R) tutorial provides a flexible and user-friendly experience to teach you about WVC's student services, degrees and programs, and the online registration process. It also provides links to some key resources, on-campus and online, to help make your college career a successful one.

Note: This public tutorial is just for review and is not a substitute for the actual tutorial, which includes a quiz. New WVC students are required to sign up through the Testing Center for either O.A.R that includes a quiz or an in-person session. The O.A.R. will take approximately one hour to complete. However, this tutorial does not need to be completed in one sitting. The O.A.R. will remain available to you whenever you need it.
