Knight Fright Ride & Run
Whether it's student homelessness, a car breaking down, or not enough money to pay the family grocery bill, the Knights Care Fund can cover expenses and ensure a student is able to stay in school. On Oct. 7, 2017, the Wenatchee Valley College Alumni Association hosted the 3rd annual Knight Fright Ride & Run. Over $3,500 was raised from the community event for the Knights Care Fund.
In the last academic year, the Knights Care Fund awarded over $14,000 to 50 students through the college’s counseling department. One student that received support during last school year was a first-generation student enrolled through Running Start. He was homeless and had a history of abuse during his childhood. The Knights Care Fund was able to provide assistance with dorm fees as well as food and hygiene products through the Knights Kupboard, a food pantry on the WVC campus. The student has since graduated from WVC and transferred to a university in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree.
If you missed Knight Fright, you can still support WVC students!
Thank you to our generous sponsors!
