Student Emergency Assistance Grant

Program Overview 

The Student Emergency Assistance Grant (SEAG) provides funding to assist students experiencing unforeseen emergencies or situations that affect the student's ability to attend classes. 

The program can provide funding for non-tuition related emergency needs such as housing, food, technology, transportation, childcare, health, utilities, or textbooks.

If you would like to see if you are eligible to receive support from this grant, please fill out the SEAG Request Form and our Student Benefits Navigator will contact you with more information.

In order to be eligible for support from this grant, you must be an enrolled student at WVC and experiencing a financial emergency that is affecting your ability to be successful in your classes. 

This grant is designed for one-time relief of a short-term financial hardship and is not intended to cover ongoing or recurring expenses. 

Examples of emergency expenses that this grant can assist with include: 

  • Books or required supplies
  • Childcare-related expenses
  • Fees or fines (excluding course tuition & fees)
  • Medical, Vision, or Dental-related expenses not covered by insurance
  • Housing & Utilities
  • Transportation
