Hitting Coach
Season: Third Season

Coach Kerns starts his third season at WVC as the Hitting Coach and will also spend time coaching the outfielders.

The Knights hitters have been as scary as any offense in the league since Coach Kerns arrival. The 2018 Knights were atop the leaderboard in Home Runs (regular season) last year, as well as finishing fourth in slugging percentage (.403), fifth in runs scored (339), and being in the top 10 of average, on base percentage, and stolen bases. Knights outfielder Austin Earl hit a league leading 13 home runs beating out teammate Dalton Harum who finished second with 11.

Previously Kerns spent the 2015 summer as the Head Coach of the Asotin County Blues. An American Legion Baseball team in Asotin, Washington

Dustin started out his collegiate career at Skagit Valley Community College before transferring to Yakima Valley Community College and playing two seasons there. During his time at YVCC he helped his teams make two NWAC tournament appearances. Kerns finished his career as a Catcher and Outfielder at Bellevue University, a highly successful NAIA program in Nebraska. While at Bellevue he won the Gold Glove as a Catcher in the MCAC conference.

Dusty graduated from Bellevue with a degree in International Security and Intelligence Studies.
