The Wenatchee Valley College Drama Club will present “Arc: The Musical” in Wells Hall Theater on the Wenatchee campus from May 7-10 at 6 p.m. The community is invited to this student-led event that will feature actors not only from WVC, but from schools around the Wenatchee Valley.
"Arc: the Musical” is the story of Joan of Arc's visions, victories, and vanquishments, all told through a unique and exciting balance of 1990's alternative music, French romanticism, and medieval atmosphere and attitude.
“This is a world premier of a student-written jukebox musical, produced, directed, managed, and acted by students, from lighting and sound to choreography, costuming, and set work,” said Rebecca Hargrove, faculty advisor for the WVC Drama Club.
The cast includes Sophie Thomas Piscopo as Joan of Arc, Micah Meloy as the dauphin,
Dillon Clare as John of Bedford, Hannah Blank as St. Catherine, Renisa Macklin as
St. Michael, and Avalene Floyd as St. Margaret. Zachary Van Matre will play William Glasdale and
Pierre; James Harnish is Bishop Beaufort, Kamen Martinez is Alceste, and Woodrow Floyd
is Henry. The ensemble cast includes Juliana Flores, Lorelai Gillenwater, Hannah Wright,
A.K. Penmetsa, Eli Wright, Christian Perez, Carson Dimke, Zachary Van Matre, James
Harnish, Kamen Martinez, and Woodrow Floyd.
Eli Wright is the artistic and vocal director of the production, and the producer of the script and marketing material; Ashley Jensen the administrative director; Hannah Wright the choreographer; Ruby Schulte the stage manager; and Elana Wendorf the house/production manager.
The cast and crew are from multiple schools: Wenatchee Valley College, Cashmere High School, Eastmont High School, Wenatchee High School, the River Academy, and from homeschools. WVC alumni are also participating in the production.
Tickets will be sold in Van Tassell Center and at the door; cash, check, or Venmo payments will be accepted. Cost is $7 for all students and senior citizens, and $10 for adults.
