Dear students, faculty, and staff,

Thank you for participating in the college's self-evaluation process with our accrediting body, the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), this spring. Based on our comprehensive spring evaluation, NWCCU has issued their final report with findings and recommendations.

NWCCU has stated that WVC is substantially compliant with their standards, policies, and eligibility requirements. The college's accreditation status has been reaffirmed, and we will continue to work on addressing their public sanction warning. WVC must address these recommendations by August 2029, and we are fully confident that we will come into compliance before this deadline. You can learn more about WVC's accreditation on our website.

I am incredibly grateful to our staff and faculty for the work they have done to fulfill NWCCU's recommendations from our Spring 2025 Special Report. Many areas received commendations for their commitment to serving students, including student support programs like CAMP, TRiO, MESA, and Running Start, and for exemplifying our values through the work of the Collaborative Oversight Forum, El Corazón Center for Teaching & Learning, and the Leadership Development Academy.

We have made positive strides over the past year, and I appreciate NWCCU's recognition of the progress our entire college has made. Based on their recommendations, we will continue to work on improving WVC's financial health. Our fiscal services team and budget committee are working diligently to address these concerns, and we look forward to sharing more information about the college's financial health in the coming weeks.

Finally, I believe that every student, faculty, and staff member contributes to making WVC a better place to learn, teach, and work. Thank you for your dedication to helping students, colleagues, and community members thrive through the work you do each day.

Sincerely,

Faimous
