Weinstein Beverage Company, the exclusive Pepsi bottler and distributor serving North Central Washington, announced a new sponsorship and naming rights agreement with Wenatchee Valley College (WVC) Athletics on Sept. 16. Under the agreement, the playing surface at Smith Gymnasium will officially be known as Pepsi Cola Court, home to the WVC Knights basketball and volleyball programs.
The announcement marks the latest chapter in a partnership between Weinstein Beverage and WVC that spans decades, rooted in a shared commitment to the students, athletes, alumni, and residents of the Wenatchee Valley. As a family-owned, locally operated business, Weinstein Beverage has long supported WVC athletics, campus events, and community initiatives; the Pepsi Cola Court dedication formalizes that relationship in a lasting, visible way for generations of Knights fans to come.
"This partnership means so much to our team because it's personal — Wenatchee Valley College isn't just a name on a building to us, it's part of our community's story, and so are we," said Jason Throneberry, general manager of Weinstein Beverage. "Seeing the Pepsi logo on that court isn't about a brand. It's about showing up for the students and athletes who represent this valley every time they take the floor."
Throneberry added that the collaboration reflects the values that both organizations have built together over the years.
"Weinstein Beverage has been pouring into this community for a long time, and Wenatchee Valley College has been right there with us every step of the way," Throneberry said. "Pepsi Cola Court is our way of saying thank you — and it's a promise that we're going to keep showing up for these student-athletes for years to come."
Looking ahead, Throneberry expressed excitement for what the partnership represents for the future of WVC Athletics.
"Every time a Knight steps onto Pepsi Cola Court, I want them to feel the energy of this whole community behind them," Throneberry said. "We are incredibly proud to be part of this chapter of Wenatchee Valley College's story, and we can't wait to see the memories that are made on this court."
WVC officials echoed that enthusiasm, noting that partnerships like this one help sustain the athletic programs and facilities that student-athletes rely on.
"We are extremely grateful to Weinstein Beverage for their continued commitment to Wenatchee Valley College and our student-athletes," said Athletic Director Greg Sparling. "Pepsi Cola Court represents more than just a name on the floor. It represents a partnership between two organizations that care deeply about this community and its future. The support from Weinstein Beverage helps us provide our student-athletes with the facilities, experiences, and opportunities they deserve, while also creating a place where our entire community can come together and support the Knights. We are proud to call it Pepsi Cola Court."
The newly named Pepsi Cola Court will debut this season at Smith Gymnasium during the Knights volleyball home opener on Sept. 25 against Columbia Basin. A formal court dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held this fall. Fans attending games throughout the season will see updated branding, signage, and court markings reflecting the new partnership.
