Student groups are hosting two events on campus this week. The Wenatchee Valley College Queer Straight Alliance club is hosting a Pride Week event May 15-17 and the WVC Veteran Knights Club is hosting Armed Forces Day May 19. Both events are free and open to the public.

Pride Week is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. All events take place around the fountain. Throughout the week there will be LGBTQ+ speakers, food, music, painting of the Van Tassell steps rainbow and more. On Thursday, an “entry fee” of one donation of either food or toiletries to the Knights Kupboard (the WVC food pantry) is requested to eat at the taco bar. For more details, view the event on the WVC calendar. For more information, contact Erin Toft-Nordvick at 509-682-6868 or Rozaline Escobedo at 509-449-9144.

Armed Forces Day is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the campus fountain. There will be food, military vehicle displays, classic cars and more. The event is family-friendly and welcomes local veterans and community service providers. For more information, contact TJ Boteilho at 509-885-8377.

Daily parking passes on the Wenatchee campus cost $2. Parking permit machines are available in the Wells Hall/Music and Art Center, Smith Gym, Brown Library and Sexton Hall lots. Students must have valid WVC parking permits.
