Key Priorities

We use four key priorities when developing and evaluating programs and support through El Corazón . These priorities are revisited annually.

In 2024-2025, we are prioritizing work that:

  • supports key institutional initiatives as established in campus-wide strategic plans
  • intentionally supports the WVC and/or SBCTC mission and vision.
  • meets the objectives defined for Title V funding.

In 2024-2025, we are prioritizing work that:

  • supports faculty in creating effective and engaging learning experiences for students.
  • focuses on culturally sustaining practices institution-wide.

In 2024-2025, we are prioritizing work that:

  • responds to the diverse needs of students, staff, and faculty.
  • facilitates collective engagement around best practices among faculty, staff, and administration.
  • fosters a culture of continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • providing opportunities and support for faculty and staff in efforts to develop as scholars at all levels.

In 2024-2025, we are prioritizing work that:

  • promotes a greater awareness and understanding of the ways in which systemic inequalities and biases impact students and their learning.
  • is bold and transformative in an effort to bring about significant and lasting change.
  • helps identify and address educational disparities impacting our students.
