WVC has made the decision to require vaccines for employees. Employees are required to be fully vaccinated prior to the first day of class on Monday, Sept. 27. They must document their vaccination status by that date by using a free online documentation tool, which will be available beginning August 16. Waivers are available for medical, religious or philosophical reasons. UPDATE 8/17: Employees can claim an exemption for medical, religious, or philosophical reasons during the attestation process.

The decision was made in light of the governor’s most recent higher education proclamation, state and federal decisions to require vaccinations, and in response to new information surrounding the COVID-19 Delta variant.

WVC President Dr. Jim Richardson announced the decision in an email to employees on Aug. 12.

“We feel that this requirement, in addition to the student vaccination requirement, is the best option for us to preserve the health and safety of our campus community,” Richardson wrote.

You can view the president’s full announcement online at wvc.edu/News. Students and employees can receive a vaccine for free at one of multiple on-campus vaccine clinics this month and next. View more details at wvc.edu/PublicHealth.

Both WVC campuses will be reopening fully this September before the start of fall quarter, with all on-campus services and programs resuming normal business hours. Online resources will be available at wvc.edu/Online. Masks are currently required for everyone on WVC campuses.
