"Bison and Lynx Reintroduction" presentation at WVC at Omak on March 7

Photo by David Moskowitz of a lynx being releasedThe Wenatchee Valley College at Omak Red Road Association will host a presentation by Colville Tribes biologist Rose Piccinini on recent efforts to reestablish several wildlife species on the Colville Reservation. The event will be held on Thursday, March 7 at 6 p.m. in Hazel Allen Burnett Hall, room 401/402, on the Omak campus. 

This free event is open to the public. Optional donations of personal hygiene and toiletries items for Paschal Sherman Indian School dorms and Okanogan Community Homeless Shelters will be accepted. 

Rose Piccinini is a senior wildlife biologist for the Colville Tribe’s Fish and Wildlife Department. As a district biologist, Piccinini works in population management for all wildlife species of the Colville Reservation. In this presentation, Piccinini will provide insight into the histories, current efforts, and future goals of these projects. Much of the presentation will focus on the ongoing efforts to reestablish healthy populations of bison and lynx on and around the Colville Reservation. 

After the presentation, there will be time for audience questions and a hands-on experience with items related to these efforts. Light refreshments will be served at the event.
