Two outstanding Wenatchee Valley College students were recently named to the 2026 All-Washington Academic Team in recognition of their academic achievements and community service efforts.
WVC has selected students Hailey Hopkins and Ethan Kamphaus. The All-Washington Academic Team program recognizes and honors the state's finest higher education students. The students who make up the team reflect the diversity of the state, maintain high standards of excellence, and contribute positively to the community.
The 2026 All-Washington Academic Team ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 23 at South Puget Sound Community College’s Lacey campus.
Hailey Hopkins is a WVC Walking Start and Running Start student, as well as an Eastmont High School senior. She is part of WVC’s Math, Engineering, and Science Achievement (MESA) program and works as a math tutor in WVC’s STEM Tutoring Center. Hopkins has been accepted to the University of Washington’s Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science and Engineering, which she will transfer to this fall.
Ethan Kamphaus is also a WVC Running Start student who will graduate with both his Wenatchee High School diploma and an Associate of Arts transfer degree in June. He has been accepted to Montana State University, where he intends to pursue a degree in environmental biology with a minor in business.
“We are exceptionally proud of Ethan and Hailey,” said WVC President Faimous Harrison. “They have made tremendous achievements in their education that will be so beneficial to them as they continue their studies and pursue their chosen career fields.”
The program is sponsored by the Washington Association of Community and Technical Colleges, the Washington State Association of College Trustees, the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, and Phi Theta Kappa.
