To our students, faculty, and staff,

No matter where you come from or what your background is, you are welcome and valued at Wenatchee Valley College.

At a time when there is so much fear and uncertainty across our country, I want you to know that we are here for you and your safety is our highest priority. Many of our students, faculty, and staff are hurting right now and wondering what national events mean for us locally. Whether you are concerned for yourself, your family, or your loved ones, please know that you are an important member of our WVC community.

Everyone at Wenatchee Valley College deserves to learn and work in a safe environment, regardless of where they were born or the path that brought them here. We take seriously our responsibility to protect the dignity and privacy of our students, faculty, and staff, and we stand by our commitment to provide an inclusive and equitable environment for all.

As we continue to process what’s happening, this is a time for us to extend patience, compassion, and care to ourselves and one another. I encourage you to take care of your own mental health, and also to check in with your classmates, colleagues, and neighbors. Our diversity makes us stronger at WVC, and we are incredibly proud of the vibrant immigrant community we have at the college and in North Central Washington.

We have resources to support you, whether you are a student or an employee, and I encourage you to take a look at the options listed below.

Our leadership team is reviewing our policies, procedures, and professional development practices to ensure they equip us to better support one another. We will share updates and opportunities to support our community together as we continue to monitor the situation nationally and in Washington state.

En un momento en el que hay tanto miedo y tanta incertidumbre en nuestro país, quiero que sepan que estamos aquí para ustedes y su seguridad es nuestra prioridad más alta. Para muchos de nuestros estudiantes, profesores y personal, los eventos que están sucediendo a nivel nacional actualmente son dolorosos y se preguntan qué significan para nosotros aquí. Ya sea que estén preocupados por sí mismos, por un familiar o por otros seres queridos, quiero que sepan que son miembros importantes de nuestra comunidad de WVC.

Cada persona en Wenatchee Valley College merece estudiar y trabajar en un ambiente seguro sin importar dónde nacieron o el camino que los trajo hasta aquí.
