Music recitals at Wenatchee Valley College Dec. 18 and 22

The Wenatchee Valley College Music Department presents the Glove and Scarf Benefit Concert on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m., and the WVC Alumni Cello Recital on Monday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m. Both events will take place in The Grove Recital Hall, Music and Art Center, on the Wenatchee campus.

The Glove and Scarf Benefit Concert features WVC music student Teigen Iwaasa and friends performing a holiday themed benefit concert that includes classical guitar, cello and choral performances. Admission is new or like-new youth-sized gloves, mittens or scarves that will be donated to students in need at Lincoln Elementary School in Wenatchee.

The Alumni Cello Recital features WVC music alumna Jenaesha Iwaasa, accompanied by music faculty Ken Hunnicutt on piano. They will perform works by Haydn, Bach and Cassado. Admission is free.

Jenaesha graduated from WVC in 2013 and has been studying at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
