National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day Odyssey

WVC hosts alternative fuel vehicle event on Oct. 17

Wenatchee Valley College will host a National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day Odyssey event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, around the fountain on the Wenatchee campus. The event is dedicated to promoting the use of alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles. The theme this year is "Driving toward a clean, secure energy future."

Plug-In North Central Washington will showcase several alternative vehicle displays including a Polaris side-by-side UTV, Tesla, Ford C-max Energi plug-in hybrid, Volt, Leaf, electric bicycle and Zero motorcycle.

The National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day Odyssey is a biennial event developed and coordinated by the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC), a program of West Virginia University. National sponsors include American Honda Motor Co. Inc. and the Propane Education and Research Council. National partners include Greater Washington Clean Cities Coalition, U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities Program, National Park Service, AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), Smithsonian Institution and West Virginia University.
