DACA Student Announcement

Wenatchee Valley College remains committed to our DACA and undocumented students and welcomes all students, regardless of their background. WVC stands with Washington’s colleges and universities in support of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. We understand this is an extremely stressful time for our students, families and staff since the President announced the program will end March 5, 2018. WVC will continue to offer mentoring, academic guidance, financial support and other resources to help students achieve their educational dreams.

If you or someone you know may be affected by the recent DACA decision, we encourage you to view the resources available on WVC’s website and the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project. To make an appointment with a WVC counselor call 509-682-6850.

Please know that student record information is confidential and WVC is mandated by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) to protect the privacy of all students.

Lastly, if you or someone else you know experiences a bias motivated incident and is intentionally targeted and subjected to harassment, please email bias@wvc.edu. WVC’s Bias Incident Response Team (BIRT) will be in contact to offer advocacy and advice on available resources.

Sincerely,

Dr. Chio Flores, WVC Vice President of Student Services
