WVC announces 2025 graduation ceremonies and nursing convocations

Wenatchee Valley College will celebrate the graduates of 2025 with nursing convocations on June 4 and June 20, and graduation ceremonies for both campuses on Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21.  
The Wenatchee campus ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, June 20, at the Town Toyota Center. The Omak campus ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, at the Omak Performing Arts Center. 
The Omak campus convocation for the LPN to BSN students will be held Wednesday, June 4, at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Omak. The pinning for students graduating with the associate degree in nursing will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 20, at Wenatchee High School.  
Bertha Sanchez, Wenatchee campus commencement speakerThe Associated Students of Wenatchee Valley College (ASWVC) have selected Bertha Sanchez as this year’s Wenatchee campus commencement speaker. Sanchez, M.Ed., has a background in psychology and counseling and works at Wenatchee Valley College as the Director of Counseling and Support Services. She has extensive experience and is dedicated to supporting the academic, emotional and personal growth of students. As a first-generation college graduate, she understands firsthand the challenges and barriers many students face in higher education. Sanchez brings empathy and insight to her work, helping students navigate the complexities of higher education with confidence and resilience. She is passionate about creating opportunity, and especially supportive environments where all students, especially those from underserved or nontraditional backgrounds, can thrive. Beyond campus, she is engaged in her community through advocacy and volunteer work that uplifts underserved populations.   
Saul Flores, Omak campus commencement speakerThe Associated Students of Wenatchee Valley College Omak (ASWVCO) have selected Saul Flores as the Omak campus commencement speaker. Flores is a philanthropist, photojournalist, and speaker who is nationally recognized for his social impact projects. Through his work, Flores documents the amazing lives of thousands of Latin American immigrants to fundraise for an elementary school in his mother’s hometown. 
His work has been featured on National Public Radio, MSNBC, and TEDX. Flores has also been featured as a keynote speaker for hundreds of colleges and universities, inspiring audiences through his visual presentations, in which he helps people realize the capacity of their immense human potential given times of extreme adversity. 
Wenatchee campus graduates and their guests are encouraged to request disability accommodations before June 20 by contacting WVC Student Life at campuslife@wvc.edu or 609-682-6860. An accessible parking area is available to individuals with disabled parking permits and by special permission from WVC Student Life. Accessible seating will be provided, along with ASL and Spanish interpretation. 
Omak campus graduates and their guests may request accommodations by contacting Edith Gomez, campus life and diversity coordinator, at egomez@wvc.edu or 509-422-7814. An ASL interpreter, Spanish translation, accessible parking, and wheelchair accessible seating will be provided.  
Both graduation ceremonies and nursing convocations will be livestreamed on WVC’s Facebook page.  
Balloons and flowers are not allowed in the arena during the Wenatchee campus ceremony. Guests may leave these items at a reception area in the lobby before entering the arena.
